Last Friday I was invited to opening of the Leicester Comedy Festival where the Leicester-based arts and culture magazine, From Dusk Til Dawn, were hosting the magnificant Imaginarium event. The night included all sorts of weird and wonderful happenings, ranging from poi and spinning by Combust, pole dancers, fashion shows and (in my opinion) the main event, The Poetry Brothel. Organised by local poet and playwright, Tim Grayson; the event was a huge success.
‘The Poetry Brothel initially appears to be a drink-fueled burlesque show, but when a client delves below the candlelight to peruse the menus offer, its true purpose becomes startlingly apparent: for a small fee, they can slake their literary lust with personal, one-on-one readings from the “poetry whores”.’
