Young Directors Forum – Leicester

June 11th, 2010

Hello all,

Just a quick post to thank Luke Pulford from Cell Pouch Drink company for inviting KF to the Leicestershire Young Directors Forum (YDF) Debate Evening. The event was aimed at young directors, entrepreneurs, managers and those on “fast track” programs within local organisations. Twenty current and aspiring young directors had a masterclass discussion on managing unexpected growth during the recession at the first in a series of Institute of Directors (IoD) Leicestershire Young Directors Forum (YDF) debates.

KF were asked to photograph the event for YDF and IOD newsletters and press releases.

Time Lapse (take 2)

May 13th, 2010

Here’s today’s Time Lapse. I think this one came out a lot better, not so shaky, I remembered to take my remote shutter release. Shot by Solomon’s Temple again in Buxton, Derbyshire. This time captured over a period of 1 hour, 2 minutes and 15 seconds. 1 frame = 15 seconds. 250 frames over all. (Canon 400D 1/250 F29 ISO 200)

Time Lapse (Take 1)

May 12th, 2010

Hi guys,

Here’s my first attempt at time lapse photography. It was shot by Solomon’s Temple in Buxton, Derbyshire.

Shot on my Canon 400D, the first half was captured in 15 minutes (1 frame = 15 seconds). The second half was shot over the period of an hour (1 frame = 1 minute) Apologies for the shaky second half, it can get ridiculously windy up there.

Ciara Janson Photo shoot

May 7th, 2010

Hello again,

Another exciting week and the first of many joint ventures between KingFilm and FreshSpark Creative. KF were shooting a behind-the-scenes promo video for actress Ciara Janson (most people will remember her as Nicole Owen from Hollyoaks).

Once completed, the behind-the-scenes video will show Ciara’s photo shoot with the fantastic local photographer Rosie Hardy.

The photos and videos both turned out great. It was a super atmosphere all day, especially after being joined by Antony Costa from Blue, who is currently touring with Ciara in Pop Stars: The Musical.

The video will be posted soon, along with a selection of Rosie’s photos from the shoot. Thanks to Mike and Dave from FreshSpark and Lianne from Salon One Hair and Beauty Salon in Buxton.

Tim: A Poet

April 20th, 2010

Please have a look at the site of Leicester-based poet Timothy Grayson. We love his work. He is one of the founders of the UK Poetry Brothel. KingFilm will be shooting promo videos at the end of this week for the PB’s up and coming shows.

Also have a look at some of KingFilm’s shots from the most recent Poetry Brothel and Imaginarium event held by FD2D at the Leicester City Rooms on Tim’s site (see previous post)

‘There are drinking songs, love-making songs and fighting songs’

April 20th, 2010

If you have a spare few minutes, watch this mini-documentary about foot-stomping, harmonica-beat-boxing blues artist, Son of Dave. Ben Darvill, former member of Crash Test Dummies, is a one-man act whose unique style has been described as ‘a mixture of modern R&B, hip-hop and electronics with an edge; it has a strong bluesy feeling’.

I was lucky enough to see Ben perform at the Leicester Blues Festival a couple of years ago. Seriously, if you get chance to see him, do it! It will change your life!
